Irene E. Learned Barbour

Irene E. Learned Barbour, 86, a former long time resident of Greenwich, CT, died Tuesday at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, MA. She was born in Port Chester, N.Y., daughter of the late Elmer Steele and Ida Martin Learned. During the 1940's she was employed as an executive secretary at Williams College. While a Greenwich resident she was secretary to the Honorable Judge Hirschberg, local architect Carl Braun, and the towns architectural Review Board. An avid bridge player and a member of the Thursday Morning Club in Great Barrington. She was the widow of Everett V. Barbour and is survived by 2 sons Paul and John of Great Barrington, 1 daughter Regina Barbour of Danbury, CT., and 2 beloved granddaughters Jordan and Catherine Mandras, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Ann Barbour, l brother Martin Learned,2 sisters Lorraine Arkins and Jeannette Douglas. Funeral and burial will be at the convienence of the family. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to join the family on Sunday May 6th at her daughter's residence 9 Dartmouth Lane Danbury, CT between l-4 PM.HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington, MA.01230 is in charge of arrangements
