William J. Seaton

William John Seaton, 81, of Kitchen Brook Trailer Park died yesterday at Willowood Health Care Center of North Adams. Born in Roxbury on June 24, 1919, son of William N. and Caroline M. Roberts Seaton, he attended schools there. He had been a resident of Northern Berkshire for more than 20 years. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Vermillion. He later enlisted in the Army, then rejoined the Navy and served for another tour. Following his honorable discharge, he later served in the Army National Guard in New Jersey, Vermont and Massachusetts. He was first employed as a trucker on long haul deliveries. He later joined Pinkerton Security Agency, where he worked for 15 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed flea markets and CB radios. His wife, the former Roxanna Coppersmith, whom he married Dec. 24, 1939, in Bennington, Vt., died Nov. 27, 1965. He leaves a daughter, Gloria J. Randall of Cheshire; two sons, Robert J. Seaton of Housatonic and Thomas J. Seaton of Deland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There are no calling hours. The FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS at 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, is in charge of arrangements. Two sisters are deceased.
