Joseph Fournier

Joseph Prosper Fournier, 89, of Providence Care Center died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born Sept. 6, 1911, in Lacolle, Quebec, son of Victor and Marie Anne Giroux Fournier, he attended schools in Canada. Mr. Fournier had resided in Hartford, Conn., for most of his life. He was employed as a custodian by the YWCA in Hartford for 25 years, retiring many years ago. He leaves two sisters, Rose Ancora of Pittsfield and Jeanette Chauvin of Keesville, N.Y. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at South Chapel of St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Mr. Fournier is also survived by several nieces and nephews. DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, is handling arrangements.
