William G. Mulroney Jr.

William G. Mulroney Jr., 81, of Stockbridge Bowl and Plymouth Road, Wakefield, died yesterday at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. Born in St. Albans, N.Y., on Dec. 8, 1922, son of William G. Mulroney Sr. and Mary Rowley Mulroney, he graduated from Fordham University in New York. He had resided in Hempstead, N.Y., for many years. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Mr. Mulroney was employed by Allstate Insurance Co. in New York as an insurance agent for 30 years, retiring in 1986. A past member of the Knights of Columbus, he was an accomplished trumpet player and had played in the U.S. Army Band. He enjoyed history and traveling. He leaves his wife of 55 years, the former Margaret Mach; six sons, William F. Mulroney of Ashton, Md., John P. Mulroney of Highland Falls, N.Y., Thomas J. Mulroney of Vienna, Va., Paul O. Mulroney of West Roxbury, Christopher J. Mulroney of Hopedale, and Matthew G. Mulroney of Quincy; two daughters, Mary E. McLemore of Lynnfield and Alice R. Mulroney of Brookline, and 10 grandchildren. Another daughter, Margaret Mulroney, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for William G. Mulroney, who died Dec. 7, 2004, will be held from MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church at 9. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 8. Burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Minuteman Council BSA, 115 Broad St., 3rd Floor, Boston 02110. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren, Paul, Julia and Mary Kate McLemore, and Matthew, Paul, Patrick, Mary Alice, Madeleine, Owen and Thomas Mulroney.
