Margery A. Murray

Margery A. Murray, 84, of 108 Hardwick Road, Gilbertville, died Sunday at home. She was the sister of Dolores Loring of Lee. Born on Long Island, N.Y., on Aug. 14, 1920, daughter of William and Margaret Turack Browne, she was educated there. A former longtime resident of Naugatuck, Conn., Mrs. Murray and her husband, William Robert Murray, owned Murray's Delicatessen there from 1952 to 1964. She was last employed by the Naugatuck Housing Authority, retiring in November 2000. She also was the bookkeeper for Nat Pac for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Union City, Conn. Her husband died in 1958. Besides her sister, she leaves two daughters, Maureen Murray of Naugatuck and Colleen Congero of Gilbertville; a son, Kevin Murray of Naugatuck; six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margery Murray will be Wednesday at 10:45 from ALDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 201 Meadow St., followed by a Mass at 11:30 at St. Mary's Church. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baystate Health Systems Hospice, P.O. Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102-9058, or to St. Mary's Church, 338 North Main St., Naugatuck, CT 06770. She leaves her grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole and Ryan Congero and Sean, Melissa and Megan Murray, and the joy in her aging years, a great-granddaughter Kassandra Fruin. She also leaves her brother-in-law, John Loring.
