Mary Ann Brasie, 78, of 18 Kent Ave. died Saturday at home. Born in Sheffield on Aug. 7, 1926, daughter of George and Katherine Livingston Monroe, she attended Pittsfield schools. Mrs. Brasie was employed by Springside Nursing Home during the 1970s. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word searches, and reading mystery novels, Her husband, Willis Brasie Sr., whom she married Oct. 10, 1964, died April 30, 1970. She leaves a daughter, Denise Baker of Pittsfield; a son, George Rider of Clarksburg; two stepsons, John Brasie of Pittsfield and Willis Brasie Jr. of New York; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Donna Spitzer, died May 5, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Mary Ann Brasie will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William Furey. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., 01201.
