Wilfred L. Beaulieu

Wilfred L. Beaulieu, 89, formerly of Cheshire, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a short illness. He had resided at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield for seven years. Born in St. David, Maine, on Feb. 5, 1915, son of Vital and Madeline Cyr Beaulieu, he was educated there. He moved to Pittsfield in 1942. Mr. Beaulieu had been employed by GE as a winder in the ordnance division for more than 40 years, retiring in 1977. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and enjoyed gardening and bowling. His wife, the former Loretta Belval, whom he married Feb. 18, 1939, in Biddeford, Maine, died May 21, 1999. He leaves three sons, Roger L. Beaulieu of Pittsfield, Phillip E. Beaulieu of the Villages, Fla., and Richard F. Beaulieu of Davenport, Fla.; a daughter, Dianne T. Schnopp of Pittsfield; a brother, Albert Beaulieu of St. David; a sister, Rita Coppola of Travares, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Wilfred L. Beaulieu, 89, was called safely home on Dec. 28, 2004. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Friday at 10:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 in St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will be in the spring in Cheshire Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
