Josephine Talarico

Josephine Talarico, 94, a native of Pittsfield, died April 30 at the Santa Teresita Nursing Home in Duarte, Calif., where she had resided for 10 years. Born in Pittsfield on July 21, 1906, daughter of Pasquale and Antonetta Rabasca Metallo, she attended local schools. While in Pittsfield, Mrs. Talarico was employed by GE for several years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Her husband, Frank Talarico, whom she married July 29, 1925, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, died in October 1981. She leaves a son, Joseph Talarico of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Talarico of Southwick; two brothers, Connie Metallo of Sellersburg, Ind., and Victor Metallo of Sewell, N.J.; a sister, Gloria Langlois of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. Predeceased by three brothers, Peter Metallo, Joseph Metallo, Anthony Metallo, and three sisters, Mary Cimini, Frances Cauchon, Theresa Metallo. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services and burial took place on Tuesday, May 8, in Westminster, Calif. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield, by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS pastor. Memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Church Centennial Organ Fund, in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of local arrangements.
