Joseph J. Petersoli Sr.

Joseph J. Petersoli Sr., 84, of 116 Woodland Road died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Springfield on Oct. 19, 1920, son of Antonio and Bridget O'Sullivan Petersoli, he was educated in Lee schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he served from Dec. 19, 1944, to Jan. 19, 1946. Mr. Petersoli was employed by the former Hurlbut Paper Co. and by Mead Paper Co., now Meadwestvaco, retiring as a machinist from its Laurel Mill. A craftsman, he made all types of furniture and designed kitchen cabinets. He and his wife, the former Elvera Brighenti, were married in December 1939. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Paul A. Petersoli of Lee and William L. Petersoli of Otis; a daughter, Kathleen M. Packard of Lee; a brother, Louis Petersoli of Lee; 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Another son, Joseph J. Petersoli Jr., died June 10, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Petersoli leaves his beloved grandchildren, Diana, Joseph III, Lynn, Jody, Rhonda, Kimberly, Lisa, Richard, Paul Jr., Ann, Eric, David and Ashley. His wishes were that there be no funeral or visiting hours. KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee is in charge of arrangements.
