David A. Chapman

David A. Chapman, 62, of 161 Madison Ave. died Wednesday at home. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 27, 1939, son of Merritt E. and Margaret Winters Chapman, he attended local schools. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Chapman was employed as a cab driver for 40 years with Rainbow Taxi and Yellow Checker Cab Co. before retiring in January because of ill health. He enjoyed working on cars. He leaves his wife, the former Anna M. LeBarnes, whom he married March 25, 1961; a daughter, Debbie A. Chapman of the state of New York; a brother, Bruce A. Chapman of Lanesboro, and three grandsons. Funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires or the American Cancer Society, in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is in charge of arrangements.
