Bonnar Dykes Wilcox

Bonnar Dykes Wilcox, 94, formerly of 188 Pleasant St., died Monday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he was admitted a week before. He had resided at North Adams Commons for three years. Born in North Adams on Feb. 21, 1910, son of Samuel G. and Christine B. Dykes Wilcox, he was a graduate of Drury High School. Mr. Wilcox was a self-employed tax accountant for many years. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a longtime member and past master of Lafayette-Greylock Lodge of Masons, AF&AM. He enjoyed music and played the drums in his youth. His wife, the former Esmeralda A. Chase, whom he married in May 1943, died June 29, 2001. He leaves a sister, Charlotte Clark of Tolland. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services and burial for Bonnar Dykes Wilcox, who died Jan. 31, 2005, will take place in the spring at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested to St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. He also leaves a niece and her husband, Janet C. and Paul Fox of West Springfield. A brother, Edward Wilcox, and a sister, Janet Roberts, are deceased.
