I met Doris when we were both 4 years old, She was wearing her father's rubber boots. We sidled around each other and became good friends. Our favorite game was "owl houses" which we constructed from umbrellas to protect our "babies" i.e. dolls from the owl pillow looking down from her bedroom window. We both lived on Livingston Avenue.
