Laura E. Fortin

Laura E. Fortin, 92, of Gilroy, Calif., formerly of 7 Kerr Ave., died Saturday in Gilroy. She moved to Gilroy some years ago. Born in Adams on Jan. 2, 1909, daughter of Arthur and Mary Beaudin Lefebvre, she attended local schools. She retired from the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. While in Adams, Mrs. Fortin was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. Her husband, J. Wallace Fortin, whom she married May 31, 1941, is deceased. She leaves a son, Arthur Fortin of Gilroy, with whom she made her home; a foster brother, Eugene LeBeau of North Adams, and two grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 17, at 10 at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. A prayer service in the Roman Catholic tradition will be offered at 9:15 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., which is in charge of local arrangements. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. California arrangements are by HABING FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1294 4th St., Gilroy. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rena Gurney, Lillian Rolland and Blanche Jarvis.
