Ellen Hamilton

Ellen Hamilton, 81, of 277 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Saturday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Sept. 6, 1923, daughter of Lawrence E. and Catherine Walsh Morrissey, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Hamilton was employed for many years by the former New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. as an operator and supervisor. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers. Her husband, Robert Wallace Hamilton Jr., whom she married Feb. 15, 1947, in St. Francis' Church, died Feb. 5, 1991. She leaves a daughter, Kathryn L. Bohner of North Adams, and four grandsons. Another daughter, Nancy Szivos, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Ellen Morrissey Hamilton, who died March 5, 2005, will be Wednesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 5 to 8. Memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice, through the funeral home. Survivors include four grandsons, Jason Hamilton Bohner, John Jacob Bohner IV, Robert Szivos and Thomas Szivos; a son-in-law, Lawrence Szivos; a sister-in-law, Ruth Morrissey. She was predeceased by two brothers, Owen and Lawrence Morrissey, and by two sisters, Kathleen Toohey and Mary O'Brien. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother.
