Letitia Austin

Letitia Austin, 84, of 83 South Onota St. died yesterday morning at home. Born in Troy, N.Y., on Sept. 25, 1920, daughter of George and Gladys Johnson Butcher, she moved to Pittsfield in 1935 and was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Austin was a homemaker. Before her marriage, she worked at the former Eaton Paper Co. and at GE. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Her husband, Frank J. Austin, whom she married Jan. 25, 1947, in St. Charles' Church, died Jan. 5, 2004. She leaves a son, Francis G. Austin of Pittsfield, and two granddaughters. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Letitia Austin died in Pittsfield on Sunday, March 13, 2005. Beloved mother-in-law to Mary Austin and loving grandmother to Margaret E. and Heather M. Austin. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow, March 15, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Roger Davis, pastor of First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, March 14, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friend desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the BMC Renal Dialysis Unit, both in care of the funeral home.
