Anna F. Holian

Anna F. Holian, 93, formerly of Great Barrington, died May 8 at Brookview Nursing Home in West Hartford, Conn. Born in Great Barrington on Aug. 22, 1907, daughter of George and Mary Shaughnessy Fitzpatrick, she was a 1924 graduate of the former Searles High School. She had resided in Florida from 1971 to 1983 before moving to West Hartford. Mrs. Holian was employed as a legal secretary for the late Judge Frank J. Brothers and for the law firm of Judge George R. McCormick. She retired in 1958. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of the former Mount Everett Chapter of the Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, Joseph "Brick" Holian, died March 2, 1989. She leaves a daughter, Karolyn Truran of Rotonda West, Fla.; six grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be Thursday, June 14, at 11 a.m. in Sheffield Center Cemetery. The Rev. Peter M. Wehry, a grandson, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, Ind., will officiate. Donations may be made to the Bob Jones University Gymnasium Fund, Greenville, SC 29614. HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
