Edith J. Nicoll, 86, of 30 Thomson Place died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 26, 1914, daughter of Henry C. and H. Elizabeth Polly Rickheit, she was a 1932 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1933 graduate of the Berkshire Business College. Mrs. Nicoll was employed as a secretary at General Electric Co. for 40 years in the plastics division. She retired in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her husband, William W. Nicoll, whom she married Oct. 7, 1978, died in 1994. She leaves a niece and two nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Rennie officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours for Edith J. Nicoll will be held on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the services at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Mrs. Nicoll's memory.
