Ann Siliciano

Ann Siliciano, 80, of High Point Drive, Claremont, Calif., died Tuesday after a lengthy battle with a neurological disorder known as Charcot Marie Tooth disease. Born in Adams on March 30, 1924, daughter of Dr. James F. and Margaret McEvoy McLaughlin, she graduated from the former Adams High School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., in 1946, and a master of science degree in physiology in 1949 from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. Mrs. Siliciano was last employed by Corning Community College in Corning N.Y,. where she taught science to student nurses. She had first taught at Elmira College in New York as an adjunct professor in the science department. While in Elmira, she was an active member of the Wednesday Morning Club, which is a literary group dating back to 1890, the Elmira Country Club and the Elmira City Club. She and her husband moved to California five years ago. She married her husband, Dr. Robert V. Siliciano, July 29, 1950, in St. Thomas Church, Adams. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Dr. Robert Francis Siliciano of Baltimore, Md., John Andrew Siliciano of Ithaca, N.Y., and Dr. Paul Gregory Siliciano of Roseville, Minn.; two daughters, Catherine Duntaine of Sherborn and Margaret Nilsson of Claremont, Calif., two sisters, Margaret Beaudin and Ruth McBride, both of Adams, and 13 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- No public funeral services for Ann Siliciano are planned. The MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME of Adams is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete at this time. Burial will be in Adams. The Todd Funeral Home of Pomona, Calif., was in charge of the California arrangements. Her children and grandchildren have placed a memorial bench on the grounds of Rancho Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont. Memorial donations are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, Charcot Marie Tooth Disease. She leaves her daughters-in-law, Dr. Janet Siliciano of Baltimore, Roseanne Mayer of Ithaca, and Dr. Deanna Danielson Siliciano of Roseville, and two sons-in-law, Marc Buntaine and Dr. Eric Nilsson.
