Gertrude Hillard

Gertrude Hillard, 86, of 3 Loftus St. died Friday at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on May 16, 1918, daughter of Frederick and Gertrude Strong Aubin, she attended the former St. Joseph's High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Hillard was a longtime communicant of St. Francis' Church. Her husband, William Edmond Hillard, whom she married Aug. 24, 1935, in St. Francis' Church, died Feb. 1, 1971. She leaves six daughters, Patricia Corbosiero and Nancy Rumbolt, both of North Adams, Mary Vidal of Pownal, Vt., Shirley Cote of Winter Park, Fla., Dorothy DuPont of Danbury, Conn., and Phyllis Richardson of Shelton, Wash.; three sons, William Hillard of Adams, and Gary Hillard and Bruce Hillard, both of North Adams; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by two daughters, Marilyn Felix and Donna LaPlante, and by a son, Robert A. Hillard Sr. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Gertrude Aubin Hillard, who died March 25, 2005, will be Thursday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Wilson. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
