George Vincent Hudimatch

George Vincent Hudimatch, 94, of 1715 Hewins St., Ashley Falls, died Monday evening at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in New Milford, Conn., on April 5, 1910, son of Paul and Anna Carnicke Hudimatch, he graduated from schools there. He also attended the University of Connecticut and Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 192nd Field Artillery and as a Tec 3 staff sergeant with the 170th General Hospital at the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Hudimatch was employed as head of maintenance for the Nestle Co. in New Milford. He also worked as a house painter and carpenter for the Zumpf Co. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in New Milford. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in New Milford and the Bridgewater Grange. He leaves a sister, Irene H. Boltrom of Ashley Falls, with whom he resided for nine years. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for George V. Hudimatch, who died April 4, 2005, will be Monday, April 11, at 11 in Our Lady of the Lakes Church in New Milford, Conn. Burial will be later in the spring in St. Francis' Cemetery, New Milford. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 at NEWKIRK-PALMER FUNERAL HOME, 118 Main St., Canaan, CT 06018. Memorial donations may be sent to Southern Berkshire Ambulance Association, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
