Anna Pia Lazzeri

Anna Pia Lazzeri, 96, formerly of 75 Commercial St., died yesterday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Dro, province of Trento, Austria, on March 8, 1909, daughter of Stefano and Teresa Pizzigalla Angeli, she came to the United States with her family in 1913 and settled in North Adams, where she attended schools. She was a longtime resident of 252 Protection Ave. until moving to Adams in 1967. Mrs. Lazzari was employed at the Springs Motor Court and Motel in New Ashford, now the Red Carpet Inn and Suites, retiring in 1971. She had earlier worked at the former Sprague Electric and Wall-Streeter Shoe companies, both in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in North Adams. Her husband, Joseph C. Lazzeri, whom she married July 12, 1941, in St. Anthony's Church, died Dec. 8, 1958. She leaves two daughters, Eleanor Lazzeri of Sedona, Ariz., and Carol Lazzeri of Southington, Conn.; three grandchildren, and a great-grandaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Anna Angeli Lazzeri, who died April 5, 2005, will take place Friday, April 8, at 9:45 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 64 Marshall St., by the Rev Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 9 until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home. Survivors include a son-in-law, Francis Casey; grandchildren, Jeffrey Field, Brian King and Todd Field; a great-granddaughter, Courtney King, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Angeli and Ida Galli, and a brother, Louis "Gino" Angeli.
