Frances M. Higgins

Frances M. Higgins, 82, of 148 Depot St. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Huntington, N.Y., daughter of Thomas F. and Mary O'Brian Hanlon, she was a 1940 graduate of St. Hughes School in Huntington. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Higgins worked as a crossing guard and a nurses' aide at the former Ashmere Nursing Home. She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church. She and her husband, Walter L. Higgins, were married Aug. 31, 1946. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mary L. Beeker of Dalton; three sons, Walter Higgins of Adams, Michael L. Higgins of Verona, Pa., and James F. Higgins of Orlando, Fla., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Frances M. Higgins will be Sunday, April 10, 2005, at 2 at the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Christopher Malatesta of St. Agnes' Church officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from noon until the time of the service.
