Bessie A. Fillion

Bessie A. Cerveny Fillion, 65, of 48 Fourth St., formerly of Springfield and West Springfield, died yesterday at home. Born in Westfield on April 6, 1936, daughter of the late Ralph L. and Betsy O'Dell Miller, she attended Westfield schools. She had resided in North Adams before moving to the Springfield area, and moved to Pittsfield in January. A homemaker, she enjoyed playing backgammon and camping, and had returned to the same camping area in Otis for more than 20 years. Her first husband, Robert D. Cerveny, died May 23, 1990. Her husband, Richard Fillion, died Oct. 19, 1991. She leaves two sons, Robert D. Cerveny Jr. and Richard E. Cerveny, both of Norcross, Ga.; three daughters, Susan M. Ellis of Caledonia, N.Y., Mary J. Ginman of Charlemont and Debra Foucher of Pittsfield, with whom she had resided; two brothers, Lawrence Miller of North Adams and Robert Miller of Kingston, N.H., and 10 grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Tiffany Ellis, predeceased her, as well as two brothers, Ralph and Milton Miller. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or Elder Services in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is handling arrangements.
