Amy B. Brooking

Amy B. Brooking, 34, of 210 Wahconah St. died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 20, 1970, daughter of Michael Brooking of Middlefield and Sheila Enos Brooking Rombeiro of Pittsfield, she graduated in 1993 from the cosmetology program at Charles H. McCann Technical School in North Adams. Ms. Brooking had been employed at one time as a caregiver for the Berkshire County Association of Retarded Citizens. She attended Reigning Love Church. She enjoyed working with the handicapped. She also enjoyed animals, camping and fishing. Her husband, James Xavier, whom she married in 2002, died July 15, 2003. Besides her parents, she leaves two daughters, Ashley Perrone and Destiny Thomas, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Jennifer Powell of Germany; a brother, David M. Munson Jr. of Pittsfield; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Warner Sherman of Pittsfield; paternal grandparents, George and Dorothy Taylor Brooking of Hinsdale; her stepfather, Robert Rombeiro of Pittsfield; her stepmother, Sandy Brooking of Middlefield, and her fiancé, Craig Thomas, with whom she resided. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Amy B. Brooking, who died May 3, 2005, will be private. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Kids' Place in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling the arrangements.
