Clare K. DeFalco

Clare K. DeFalco, 81, of 123 Marion Ave. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Adams on March 8, 1924, daughter of William H. and Mary A. Nolan Kearns, she graduated from the former Adams High School in 1942. Before her retirement, she was employed as assistant manager of the former Sears store in North Adams. Mrs. DeFalco was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member and past president of its Rosary Society. She volunteered as a gray lady at North Adams Regional Hospital for 32 years and served on several hospital committees and the North Adams Blood Bank. She was a member of the North Adams Travel Club. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Taconic Golf Club of Williamstown and Mount Anthony Golf Club of Bennington, Vt., and a former member of the North Adams Country Club. Her husband, Hugo F. DeFalco, whom she married in Adams on June 7, 1947, died Oct. 21, 1994. She leaves nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Clare DeFalco will take place Wednesday, May 18, at 9:45 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 64 Marshall St., North Adams, with the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home. Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Michael C. Reardon and Peter W. Reardon, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Horton, who died July 1, 1971, and Ann Reardon, who died Oct. 28, 1978.
