Albert C. Fisk

Albert C. Fisk, 82, of 845 North Main St. died Monday at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown, where he had been a resident since February 1999. Born in Chicago on April 27, 1919, son of Albert E. and Jennette Root Fisk, he was a graduate of Chicago High School. He attended Oxford University in England while serving with the Army during World War II. He was overseas for two years and seven months during World War II as a radio repairman with the Army. Mr. Fisk was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co., where he was in charge of tending all lines of communication inside the telephone building. He retired in 1981 and moved to Lanesboro in 1997. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed machinist work as a hobby. He leaves two nieces, Janet Cazavelan, with whom he resided, and Anne Vreeland of North Waterboro, Maine. Funeral services for Mr. Fisk will be private. Following cremation, burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Lanesboro. There will be no calling hours. Among survivors are his two nieces; three grandnephews; a grandniece, and a great-grandniece. If friends desire, donations in Mr. Fisk's memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice. The WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.
