Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Lincoln

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Lincoln, 81, of 4 Columbia St. died Saturday at the home of her caregiver, Nicole Dearstyne of 357 Elm St., Pittsfield. Born in Adams on Feb. 4, 1924, daughter of Morris and Mary Dickinson, she attended the former Commercial Street Grammar and C.T. Plunkett Junior High schools. Mrs. Lincoln was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cheshire and was active at the Columbia Street elderly housing project. She enjoyed playing cards. Her husband, Orville T. "Ted" Lincoln, died Jan. 29, 1969. She leaves five sons, Ted Lincoln of Winchester, N.H., Todd Lincoln of North Adams, Robert Lincoln of Adams, and Dennis and William Lincoln, both of Annandale, Minn.; a daughter, Mary J. Meehan of Pittsfield; 12 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary E. "Betty" Lincoln, who died May, 28, 2005, is planned for Thursday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams. The Rev. William Furey of First Baptist Church of Cheshire will officiate. A visitation period for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 2, from 11 to 1 at the funeral home. An inurnment service will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Fund. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lincoln's lifetime career was providing loving sustenance to her family.
