Virginia DeBlois

Virginia DeBlois, 85, of 4 Columbia St. died Monday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Dec. 28, 1920, daughter of Frank and Margaret Clark Williams, she was a 1938 graduate of Drury High School. She moved to Adams in 1941. Mrs. DeBlois was employed by ALADCO for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She had worked at the former Hoosac Cotton Mills in North Adams until her marriage. She also worked in the family business, DeBlois Market on Temple Street, until it closed in 1968. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and a member of the Cheshire Senior Citizens. Her husband, Noel A. DeBlois, whom she married Sept. 1, 1941, died April 5, 1997. She leaves two sons, Joel DeBlois of Pittsfield and Craig DeBlois of Adams; a daughter, Noella Wotkowicz of Adams; a sister, Margaret Paradise of Cheshire; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by another son, Norman DeBlois. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Virginia DeBlois, who died May 30, 2005, will take place Friday, June 3, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Elder Services of Berkshire County Meals on Wheels program through the funeral home. She was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Williams, and a sister, Barbara Chapman.
