Laura M. Bona

Laura M. Bona, 79, of 3 Wheatley Drive died yesterday at home. Born on Leominster on Nov. 5, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Fournier Malanson. Mrs. Bona moved to Stockbridge in 1939 and worked on the Wheatleigh Estate until the mid-1960s. She then worked for other estates in Stockbridge. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts for her family and friends, gambling and fishing. She leaves her husband, Daniel Bona, whom she married Feb. 14, 1941; two sons, Daniel J. Bona of Lee and William C. Bona of Stockbridge; two daughters, Irene S. Pizzi and Mary Ann Bona, both of Stockbridge; a brother, Norman Malanson of Sun City, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy DeGroot of Pittsfield, Irene Mullen of Rotterdam, N.Y., and Beatrice Grimm of Zephyrhills, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. Visiting hours at the Kelly Funeral Home will be Thursday from 2 to 4.
