Leon J. Bodzioch

Leon J. Bodzioch, 81, of 71 Great Pines Drive, Mashpee, a native of Adams, died Saturday at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth. He moved to Mashpee in 1995. Born on June 12, 1924, son of Frank and Onorata Paradysz, he was a 1942 graduate of the former Adams High School. He also graduated from the Wagner School of Art in Boston in 1945. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1946 with the rank of corporal. Mr. Bodzioch was employed by GE for 33 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to this, he worked for the former Sharkey Sign Co. in North Adams for several years. He also worked part-time as a sign artist. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, Adams Lodge of Elks 135, and Adams Post 160 of the American Legion. He wintered in Florida. He and his wife, the former Helen Midura, were married Nov. 27, 1951. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Leon J. Bodzioch Jr. of Dunstable and Dr. Timothy Bodzioch of Woburn; a brother, Anthony Bodzioch of North Kingston, R.I.; a sister, Albina Cirone of Adams, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Leon J. Bodzioch will take place Saturday, June 25, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the parishes of Notre Dame, St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday at the TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME from 8:30 until the time of the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Kanty Scholarship Fund through St. Stanislaus' Church. Donations can be mailed through the funeral home. He leaves his grandchildren, Christopher Ryan and Katherine Jane. He was predeceased by four brothers, Bruno Bodzioch, Stanley Bodzioch, Joseph Bodzioch and Emil Bodzioch.
