Earl G. Palmer

Earl G. Palmer, 82, of 4 Columbia St. died Monday at Williamstown Commons Care Center. Born in North Adams on Feb. 22, 1923, son of Lawrence E. and Orilla Thayer Palmer, he attended North Adams schools. He moved to Adams in 1968. A machine operator, he worked for the former Jones division of Arnold Print Works for 17 years and for the former Hunter Outdoor Products in North Adams for five years, retiring in 1984. Mr. Palmer was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams. He and his wife, the former Mary Oparowski, were married Sept. 14, 1968. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Jo Ann Dunn of Ocelia, Iowa; a stepson, Joseph Duda Jr. of Windsor; a sister, Stella Baslin of Pownal, Vt.; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Earl G. Palmer will be conducted Saturday, July 9, 2005, at noon from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams , officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Beebe, and a sister, Irene Parkhurst.
