Virginia H. Marsh

Virginia H. Marsh, 85, of 240 High St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Albany, N.Y., on Sept. 6, 1915, daughter of Chauncey and Anna Bell Hakes, she was a graduate of St. Agnes' High School in Albany. She resided in Lanesboro and Pittsfield before moving to Becket in 1950. Mrs. Marsh owned and operated the Hearth Stone Lodge in Becket with her husband, Paul F. Marsh, during the 1950s and '60s. She enjoyed traveling with the Becket Senior Group. Her husband, whom she married in 1935, died in 1990. She leaves a son, Paul F. Marsh Jr. of Becket; two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted tomorrow, June 5, at 11 in North Becket Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Withers, pastor of Federated Church of Becket. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Becket Seniors in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements.
