Judith Ann Perry

Judith Ann Perry, 63, of 454 South Undermountain Road died Tuesday at Fairview Hospital of cancer. Born in Lansing, Mich., on Feb. 17, 1942, daughter of Charles Trescott Roys and June Farlin Roys, she attended Mount Everett Regional School in Sheffield and graduated from Charlotte High School in Charlotte, Mich., in 1960. She attended Liberty University's LOLTL teacher's degree program in Lynchburg, Va. Mrs. Perry taught first grade at Lee Christian Academy in Lee from 1987 until 1995. In 1996, she and her husband, William Perry, started a storefront ministry on North Street in Pittsfield, ministering to street people. In 2001, she became involved with Transport for Christ in Canaan, N.Y., where she served until the time of her death. She was active in Sheffield Chapel from 1974 to 1996, and taught Sunday school. She and her husband were married Dec. 9, 1972, in Vermontville, Mich. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Annette Iemolini and Terri Dagruel, both of Sheffield, and Angela Jensen of Turtle Lake, N.D.; five sons, James Perry of Lazerne Lake, N.Y., Douglas Perry of Sheffield, Steven Perry of Houston, Eric Perry of Blumfield, N.J., and David Perry of Highland, Ind., and 18 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Judith Ann Perry, who died Aug. 30, 2005, will be Saturday, Sept. 3, at 10 at Sheffield Chapel with Pastor Chet Howes officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 2, from 4 to 7 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Transport for Christ in c/o the funeral home. She was predeceased by her Aunt Mildred. She chose to leave her teaching job in order to care for her mother, who had Alzheimer's Disease. Her love for children was brought forth as she provided a loving safe home for 30 foster children in addition to spending time with her own grandchildren, Juli-Anne and Trevor Iemolini, Garrett, Jason and Alex Dagruel, Joseph, Ayla, Amber, Michael, Ashley and Michael Perry, Matthew and Kimberly Wells, Shanna and Miichael Wells, Victoria and Christopher Perry and Erin Perry. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Larry Iemolini, Michael Dagruel and Rick Jensen, and daughters-in-law, Jodie, Mary, Rache, Tracy and Kathy. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and teacher.
