Sheela F. Davis

Sheela Fay Davis, 57, of Clayton-Mill River Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 17, 1943, daughter of Charles and Margaret Potter Woodcock, she attended local schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Davis formerly was employed by Bicron Electronics in Canaan, Conn. She was a member of the Umpachene Park Committee, where she was park commissioner for 17 years, and a member of the New Marlboro Ladies' Auxiliary and the Wednesday night women's bowling league at Cove Bowling Lanes in Great Barrington. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She and her husband, Harold Davis, were married Nov. 10, 1962, at the former Mill River Congregational Church. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Tammy Lane of Lee and Star Woodward of Great Barrington; a sister, Mora Sumner of North Adams; a brother, John Satin Potter of parts unknown, and five grandchildren. A service of Remembrance will be conducted Friday, June 8, at 2 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Charles Van Ausdall officiating. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to the New Marlboro Fire and Rescue Squad through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
