Francis Gomula

Francis W. Gomula, 62, formerly of 75 Cromwell Ave., died Monday afternoon at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born in Pittsfield on March 10, 1939, son of Walter and Wanda Walczak Gomula, he attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also attended Alliance College in Erie, Pa. Mr. Gomula was employed by GE for 15 years prior to becoming disabled with multiple sclerosis in 1981. He was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. He leaves a brother, Chester Gomula of Pittsfield, and a sister, Louise J. Perrone of Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 9 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Patient Activities Fund at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, both in care of the funeral home.
