Emma M. Gilbert

Emma M. Gilbert, 84, a resident of Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility and a former resident of Columbia Arms, died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Bayonne, N.J., on Oct. 12, 1916, daughter of Edward and Mary Stashulavitcz Dubiski, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and attended local schools. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing bingo. Her first husband, Charles Wilcox, died Nov. 8, 1951. Her husband, Clifford Gilbert, whom she married Dec. 29, 1984, died April 13, 1997. She leaves four daughters, Doris Beauregard of Putnam, Conn., and Joan Thurston, Carolyn Murphy and Emma Bushey, all of Pittsfield; two sons, Charles Wilcox of Lutz, Fla., and Robert Wilcox of Worcester; 24 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning from the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B. Brunton. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are at the funeral home today, Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home. She was the oldest of six children and predeceased by four brothers, Albert Dubiski, Frank Dubiski, Michael Dubiski and Edward Dubiski, and a sister, Mary Kerichenko.
