Germaine Blanchette

Germaine Blanchette, 96, of 4 Columbia St. died yesterday at the Williamstown Commons Health Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Adams on July 4, 1905, daughter of Hilaire and Eugenie La Belle Blanchette, she attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Thompsons Training School for Practicing Nurses in Brattleboro, Vt., in 1927. Miss Blanchette was employed by the former C.T. Plunkett Hospital and the Meriden Hospital in Meriden, Conn., for many years. She then went to work for the late Dr. Samuel Dworkin as a secretary for many years, retiring in 1965. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame Des Sept Douluers and St. Thomas Aquinas in Adams. She leaves a brother, Charles Blanchette of Adams. The funeral will take place Saturday, June 9, at 8 a.m., from the TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday evening from 6 to 8. In lieu of friends, donations in her memory can be made to the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas, through the funeral home, 6 Summer St., Adams. She was predeceased three brothers, Rene Blanchette, Hilaire Blanchette Jr., and Edward Blanchette, and a sister, Alice Dworkin.
