George H. Busiere

George H. Busiere, 77, of , North Port, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 16, at his home. He was a resident of Westfield and East Otis, and has lived in North Port since 1990. Born in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 19, 1927, son of Rose and George Busiere, he was educated in Springfield. He joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and served in Hawaii. Mr. Busiere was the owner and operator of George's Auto Body in Westfield, which was established in 1951. He was especially fond of his lake house in Otis, all lake activities and golf. He also enjoyed all hunting and fishing, as well as cooking holiday and Sunday dinners for his family, and dining at the Lido Restaurant. He was an avid bocce player and bowler with his friends in Florida. He leaves his wife of 54 years, the former Jean Fox; three daughters, Sally Wheeler of East Otis, Nancy Ford of Southampton and Kathleen Monette of Westfield; two sons, Michael Busiere of Westfield and James Busiere of Southwick; a brother, William Busiere of Springfield, and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The Memorial Mass for George Busiere will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake in Southwick. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 220 Wexford Boulevard, Venice, FL 34293. CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME is handling arrangements. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenny and Donald. He also leaves his sons-in-law, David Wheeler and Gary Monette, and his daughters-in-law, Teresa and Carolyn.
