Margaret Evangelisto

Margaret A. Evangelisto, 89, formerly of 176 Columbus Ave., Berkshiretown Apartments, died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons, where she was admitted March 11, 1999. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 8, 1911, daughter of Ralph and Anna Spagnuolo Bove, she attended local schools. Mrs. Evangelisto was employed for a short time by GE and, later, by Miss Hall's School. She retired in 1960. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 448. Her husband, Floyd F. Evangelisto, whom she married Jan. 17, 1942, died March 28, 1980. She leaves three sisters, Janet Merlet of Sun City, Fla., Lena Nicola of Dalton and Stella Bove of Pittsfield. Predeceased by three sisters, Mary Finizola, Theresa Dean and Anna Marino, and four brothers, Joseph Bove, James Bove, Richard Bove and Anthony Bove. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, June 13, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., by the Rev. Dr. Roger A. Davis, pastor of First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 13, from 10 until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Hillcrest Commons Family Council, both in care of the funeral home.
