Dwight Martin

Dwight Martin, 65, of 53 Chase Ave., formerly of Worcester, died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on June 9, 1936, son of William Martin and Marion Hazel Martin Martin, he moved to Hoosick Falls, N.Y., with his family as a child. He attended schools in Williamstown and North Adams. Mr. Martin was employed by Sprague Electric Co. until joining the Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he was employed by City Builder's Supply in Worcester as a truck driver for many years. He leaves his longtime companion, Corrine Whitney, with whom he made his home; a sister, Ethel Menard of Worcester, and five brothers, LeRoy Martin of Hoosick Falls, Robert Martin and William Martin, both of North Adams, Arnold Martin of the town of Florida, and James Martin of the state of Florida. Graveside services will take place Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, with the Rev. Jill Graham, pastor of the First Congregational Church of North Adams, officiating. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home. Survivors include his longtime companion, Corrine Whitney.
