Christine G. Busse

Christine G. Busse, 92, of Quiet Knoll Road died Sunday at Laurel Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lee. Born in Essen, Germany, on Jan. 16, 1909, daughter of Ludger and Dorothea Plankert Busching, she moved to the United States in 1930. She had resided in Long Island, N.Y., and in Huntington, Conn., before moving to Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting, N.J., in 1976. For the past five years, she had resided with her daughter, Linda B. Day of Stockbridge, former Berkshire Hills Regional School District superintendent. Mrs. Busse was a landscape painter, seamstress and gardener. She was also a partner with her husband, Ewald Busse, in the breeding and sale of champion chinchillas at their Traps Falls Ranch in Connecticut. Her husband, to whom she had been married 65 years, died Feb. 15, 1995. Besides her daughter, she leaves a brother, Hans Busching of Essen. She was predeceased by four brothers, Theodore, Ludger, Wilhelm and Johannas Busching, and by her sister, Suzanna Fenchel. The funeral will be private. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County, the Visiting Nurse Association or to the Community Health Association of Richmond and West Stockbridge in care of FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
