Jeannette S. Ives

Jeannette S. Ives, 75, of 83 South Beech Plain Road died yesterday at home. Born in Derby, Conn., on Oct. 16, 1925, daughter of Cyrus and Katherine Dahinden Shelton, she attended Quaker Farm School and was a 1943 graduate of Seymour (Conn.) High School. She had resided in Sandisfield since 1975. Mrs. Ives was employed by Southern New England Telephone Co. and the Southbury Training School. She also worked for the Hitchcock Furniture Co. in Riverton, Conn., for many years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of the New Boston Congregational Church, the Oxford (Conn.) Grange, the Quaker Farms Fire Department Auxiliary and the Sandisfield American Legion Auxiliary. She was secretary of the Sandisfield Council on Aging. She leaves her husband, Robert J. Ives, whom she married May 3, 1945; three sons, Robert H. Ives of Oxford, Conn., Kenneth L. Ives of Las Cruces, N.M., and Thomas C. Ives of Seymour; a daughter, Katherine H. Ives-Magill-Brazie of Sandisfield; two sisters, Florence F. Smith of Southbury, Conn., and Buelah Renker of Oxford, Conn.; eight grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. The funeral will be Saturday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at New Boston Congregational Church, Sandisfield. Burial will follow in Sandisfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours at HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, will be Friday night from 6 to 9. Donations may be made to the Sandisfield Volunteer Ambulance Association, Sandisfield, MA 01255.
