Patricia G. Kent, 77, of South Main Street died Sunday at Fairview Commons Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since June. Born in Hamilton, Texas, on April 5, 1924, daughter of Claude and Nanny Blackshear Grisham, she graduated from Hamilton High School in 1941. Mrs. Kent was employed in the retail clothing and fashion industry by major and smaller department stores. She and her husband, Harvey Kent, whom she married Sept. 15, 1944, moved to Great Barrington in the mid-1980s and managed Boswick Gardens. He died Dec. 7, 1999. She was active in the Great Barrington Senior Center and had worked there for Claire Teague for several years. She leaves two sons, Jeffrey Kent of Housatonic and Gregory Kent of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy Kent of Egremont and Jude Kent of Ashley Falls; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family.
