Elisabeth Kabierske

Elisabeth Kabierske, 96, of 490 Wells Road died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Sachwitz, Germany, on Aug. 27, 1904, daughter of Karl and Anna BocnschKabierske, she attended schools there. She came to the United States and Cheshire in 1950. Miss Kabierske was employed by the former Berkshire Woolen Mills for several years until its closing. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and, while in Germany, was a member of a church choir there. She enjoyed music, gardening and pets, especially her bird, Buddy. She leaves a nephew, a niece, and her caregiver, Lori Moore of Cheshire. The funeral will be Monday, July 9, at 10:30 from DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, with the Rev. David Raymond, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church or the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
