Philip Audet Sr.

Philip E. Audet Sr., 72, of 35 High St. died yesterday morning at Laurel Lake Center for Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Fitchburg on Aug. 2, 1928, son of Philip J. and Albina LeBlanc Audet, he was a 1946 graduate of St. Bernard's High School. He moved to Lee in 1957. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving three years with the 24th Engineers Division. He was discharged with the rank of corporal. Mr. Audet was plant manager of the former Lee Laundry. He retired in 1990 from the former Kimberly-Clark Corp. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He and his wife, the former E. Irene Shaver, were married Nov. 19, 1955. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Philip E. Audet Jr. of Lee; a daughter, Denise Audet-St. Jock of Great Barrington; six brothers, George Audet of Brattleboro, Vt., Charles Audet of Framingham, Donald Audet of Orange, Raymond Audet of West Springfield, Robert Audet of Columbia, S.C., and Bernard Audet of Camarillo, Calif.; two sisters, Hermance Jacobs of Chepacket, R.I.; and Corinne Prunier of Worcester; two grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary's School or to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association, both in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. There will be no visiting hours.
