Russell E. Demers Jr.
ADAMS, Mass. — Russell E. Demers Jr., 67, of 4 Columbia St., died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 26, 1939, son of Elizabeth Birch Grande and the late Russell E. Demers, he attended local schools.
Mr. Demers was a self-employed painter and roofer for most of his life.
He was a communicant of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas. He enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage.
Besides his mother, of North Adams, he leaves two daughters, Laura McKenzie of Springfield and Barbara Demers, of Cheshire; a sister, Margaret Demers, of Providence, R.I.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His son, Kenneth Demers; two daughters, Linda and Karen Demers, and his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Morse predeceased him.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Demers will be private, and burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory can be made to the Russell E. Demers Jr. Trust Fund through TROTTER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
