Janet M. DiRusso

Janet Marie DiRusso, 48, of 44 Jackson Road died early Saturday morning at home. Born in Newton on July 30, 1952, daughter of Dorothea Colantuono DiRusso and the late Louis DiRusso, she attended schools there. She had lived in Stephentown, N.Y., for many years before moving to Savoy in 1986. Miss DiRusso was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk and rural mail carrier at the Cummington post office. She retired in 1997 because of illness. She enjoyed gardening. Besides her mother, of Naples, Fla., she leaves three brothers, Gary DiRusso of New Hampshire, Peter DiRusso of Newton and James DiRusso of Naples; and her longtime companion, Mary Dettloff, with whom she resided. A Memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 in Notre Dame Des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. The Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame & St. Thomas, Adams, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, from whom Janet received hospice care during her illness, through AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
