Pauline Marchetto

Pauline Marchetto, 77, of 29 Woodruff Road died Friday at Laurel Lake Center in Lee. Born in Sheffield on May 10, 1924, daughter of Antonio and Antonia Sebben Marconi, she was a 1942 graduate of the former Searles High School. Mrs. Marchetto was employed as a bookkeeper at her husband's business, Mario's Garage, in West Stockbridge until retiring in 1984. Before that, she worked at the former Monument Mills and at GE. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, where she taught CCD and was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the West Stockbridge Greater Years and chairman of the West Stockbridge Richmond Community Health Association, and was active in the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She and her husband, Mario P. Marchetto, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary June 1. They were married in St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Paul Marchetto of West Stockbridge; a daughter, Marie Cook of Housatonic; three sisters, Helena Jennings of West Stockbridge, Angeline Baldauf of Sheffield and Grace Grazia of Winsted, Conn., and five grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday, July 18, at 9 at HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Patrick's Church celebrated by the Rev. Steven F. McGuigan, pastor. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, July 17, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
