Beatrice M. Pierce, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Beatrice M. Roy Pierce, 93, of 1100 Mohawk Trail, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 15, 1913, daughter of Calix "Chick" and Edith Trombley Roy, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Pierce was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 18 years until her retirement in 1972. Previously, she was a salesclerk for the former Florence Dress Shop in North Adams.
She was a communicant of the former Incarnation Church in North Adams. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the North Adams Country Club and the Mount Anthony Country Club in Bennington, Vt. She also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the North Adams Garden Club.
Her husband, Joel "Mike" Pierce, whom she married on June 2, 1934, died on March 4, 2002.
She leaves three brothers, George C. Roy and Lionel E. Roy, both of North Adams, and Rolland Roy of Pownal, Vt., and two sisters, Exilda Suprenant of Adams and Rita Styczynski of North Adams, as well as sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A brother, Donald Roy, and a sister, Melva Hoynoski, are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Pierce, who died Monday, June 4, 2007, is private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the family lot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
