Dorothy Casucci

Dorothy T. Casucci, 86, of 8 Oak Lane, Brookfield, Conn., a native and former resident of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had been admitted July 6. Born in Pittsfield on March 7, 1915, daughter of Allan and Inez Desmond Thayer, she attended local schools. She also attended Berkshire Business College. She moved to Brookfield in 1998. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Casucci was employed by Sheaffer Eaton Co. for several years. She enjoyed bowling, the card game pitch, cooking, crocheting and sewing. Her husband, Elio Casucci, whom she married Nov. 22, 1941, died April 6, 1999. She leaves five sons, Elio T. Casucci of Lenox Dale, Roberto L. Casucci, Richard A. Casucci and Stefan J. Casucci, all of Pittsfield, and David P. Casucci of Coventry, R.I.; a daughter, Nancy Bellnier of Brookfield, Conn., with whom she made her home prior to entering the nursing home; a sister, May Thayer of Pittsfield; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Rennie, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pittsfield, officiating. Cremation will follow. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday, July 19, from 4 to 7 p.m.
